Davis Instruments 6250 Overview
This model is best suited for someone who needs a professional weather station or a marine rated weather station, and understands you are going to need to purchase extra hardware if you want to publish weather data to the internet. The Davis Instruments Vantage Vue 6250 was one of the highest quality weather stations that we reviewed, the only other models with similar levels of accuracy and precision were also from Davis Instruments. If you need a weather station for a saltwater environment youâre going to need something from Davis Instruments. The monochromatic LCD display from this model doesnât look as nice as some of the color consumer level models, but the information on it is much more in-depth. Out of the box this model doesnât publish to the internet, doesnât connect with IFTTT, and doesnât connect to any digital home assistants. You can add the ability to publish to the internet, but itâs going to add $200 - $300 to the price by the time you're done. If you need a professional quality weather station this is a great choice, if you donât need that level of weather information youâre choosing an expensive solution thatâs not a great value. Models comparable to the Davis Instruments 6250 include the Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2, Ambient Weather WS-2902, and the AcuRite 01012M.

Davis Instruments 6250 Weather Station Advantages and Disadvantages
ADVANTAGES: The Davis Instruments Vantage Vue 6250 is a professional quality weather station that is rated for marine environments. The sensors in this model are much more sensitive and accurate than those found in consumer level weather stations. Most people donât need that level of accuracy or precision, but if you do this model should be on your short list. While the LCD display is only one color the amount of information you get is much more detailed and in depth than other models.
DISADVANTAGES: This ia a professional level weather station and thatâs reflected in the price itâs $100 - $150 more than most consumer level weather stations. Our next complaint about this model is if you want to start publishing weather data to the internet youâll need a DataLogger which adds $135 to the price. Uploading the data to WeatherLink Network has a monthly subscription fee if you want historical data. The only way around that is to add a Meteobridge server which will replace your monthly cost, with a one time hardware and licence fee, which brings your total price into the $700 range. The quality on this model is top notch, but unless you need that level of data this is a very expensive way to get your weather data.
